So, I found these really cute leggings on the Torrid website and decided to order them. They were on sale for $11, so I didn't want to wait until Mom comes down and we go to the actual store and risk them being gone. So, I go and happily add them to my cart. While I'm there I find a shirt that I like, so I add it too. Then I go to check out.

My total? $35.

On the confirmation page I scroll down to make sure everything is okay. What's this? $63! No way that's right. I look around and see that shipping is going to be $28.

WTF??????

I cancel the order and play around for a bit. Even if I get rid of the shirt (my order is now $11) the shipping is $25! What's going on? That's more than double the price of the actual item. The site says that they base shipping cost on the value of the purchase. If that's so, why is it so much more than the purchase price?

My roommate orders clothes online all the time. Her shipping is never that much, even when she has a huge order.The difference between us? I'm plus size, she's not. It seems that, not only do plus size stores like to charge more for their clothes (which are basically the same), they also charge more for shipping. I realize that my order would probably weigh more, but not that much.

Anyway, the point of this post? I didn't get my leggings or my shirt and now I'm sulky. So there.

I'm trying to find work, so I thought I'd look at my old canadiansitter.ca profile and see if there were any jobs in the area. While searching I found this;

"I am looking for an overnight sitter to look after my one-year old twin boys. The hours are from 11pm at night to 10am in the morning. There is a single bed in the babies room. The position involves sleeping with them overnight, getting up when they get up to change, feed and play with them as well as bathing them in the morning."

Now, correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't that usually the, oh, I don't know, parents' job? They also have a full time nanny during the day, so I don't know when they see their kids. Something is wrong when you need a babysitter 24 hours a day.

That's right. The Holy Handkerchief is coming to Toronto. I just saw a commercial for it. Apparently it helps cure addiction or something. All I saw was a red paper napkin. There were a lot of people there though. It just amazes me that people buy into this. Why would they think that this would do anything? It's a piece of paper! The only thing that's going to happen is you might get a placebo effect and you can use anything for that.

They could have at least picked something that didn't sound so stupid. For example, the Holy Puppy. One lick and you're cured of whatever ails you! Let the holy power flow from the Holy Puppy's tongue into you and it will heal!

Seriously. I just went out to get a drink of water (at 1:45am) and saw the front door propped open! What the hell! That is so not safe! I don't care if you need a key to get into the building, people let others in all the time. And I don't know anyone who lives in the building, so who knows what they're like. This has happened before, but during the day. I came home one day and the door was propped open and there were three guys I didn't know sitting in the living room. They were friends of my roommate (who wasn't home), but I don't care! Strange guys in my house with the door open? They're lucky I didn't panic and hit them with something.

I left a note on our whiteboard politely asking that the door not be left open anymore. I know I'm paranoid, but I'm paranoid for a reason.

WTF

Dude. Some people just walked through the trees outside my window. Like, right up close to my window. As in, I could count the buttons on the one guys jacket. What the hell? If you want to go to Schriberwood (the direction they were going), by all means walk on my side of Roy Ivor. But walk on the sidewalk that's two feet away. Don't be looking in my window.

WTF?
