Ally's Online Notebook

My computer is broken. I'm at school right now, waiting for my class to start. It's in a computer lab, which is the only reason I have a computer. Yesterday I went to start my computer and it said that a start-up file was missing or corrupt. Now, I can't even get onto my computer. I basically need to re-install everything. Most of my files were backed up, but all my internet bookmarks are gone. I've found most of them again, but I'm still missing a few. If anyone knows who has a livejournal that currently has a list of their fandoms, a 2007 ficlist, a 2006 ficlist and a Kingdom Hearts fanfic that's about Demyx' somebody (who was from Atlantica) please let me know. There is more on the page, but that's all I can remember, Unfortunately that doesn't make it easy to find. Thanks.

Okay, so, time for a major update on my life.

Alright, first things first. Kate is a bitch. Well, unless you listen to her, and then I’m the bitch. But, whatever. We had HUGE fights over everything. We ended up calling Manoj, the landlord, to get him to settle things, but that was a huge waste of time. He didn’t do anything to help and things just got worse. Kate deliberately did things to annoy us and would pick fights.

So, things happen and Chantal and I decide to move out. We go look at a few places and finally decide on a house with a high school math teacher whose kids are away at school. We get their rooms and, if they come back, they stay in the basement. This house is AWESOME! My room is huge and has so many places to put stuff (there will eventually be pictures). Chantal’s room is great too. Apparently her bed is soooo comfy. Mine is too. The first night here I lay on it while I was talking to my parents and I was just so “I’m going to fall asleep right now” it was great. And, there’s a hot tub! And we get to use it whenever we want! And there’s a pool table and a really cute dog names Kona. She’s a sweetie and really well-behaved. We don’t have to take care of her, but we do ‘cuz she’s just so cute! (Also, pictures coming)

Anyway, the new house is great. And the best part? No Kate. I never have to see the bitch again!

So, what else is going on in life? There isn’t much. School. So much school. And I’ve gotten Chantal addicted to Kingdom Hearts. She plays it in my room and I help her. She’s only on the first one, but since I never finished that one, it’s pretty good to see it again. Then we’ll move onto II and she will be fully obsessed! (No, that’s not an evil laugh right there. Honest)

So, that’s about it. I’m sitting in my new room right now just listening to music that doesn’t have rap over it, louder than my speakers even go to. Ah. The quiet.

I got my care package today! Yay! I had most everything I had forgotten, including my health card. Which is good, since I'm going to the doctor on Friday (stupid body, having everything break down all at once). It also had banana bread and cookies! Yay! And my Death Note. Run in fear, all those who annoy me. For I shall write thy name in my book and ye shall die! Mwahahahaha!

Yes, well. Moving on.

I had the absolute worst schedule today. I had class at 9am til 10 and then was off until 5pm. Sucky. I ended up going to the mall and buying books (on cannibalism!) and Fullmetal Alchemist vol. 10. The I came home, got my package and went back to school. Then after we went out to dinner and on the way home missed the bus by 2 minutes (literally, we saw it drive away as our bus pulled up) and so had to walk 3 blocks. At night. In the cold. Carrying school stuff. Including laptops. Sucky.

So that was my day. Pretty boring, but that can be a good thing.

I'm still cold. I need my slippers, but they're way over in my closet. Too far away and too buried under stuff to get. Maybe I'll just crawl into bed.

My jellybean died. That's my mp3 player for anyone who cares. The up arrow and the stop/play button stopped working. I took it in to get fixed and they had to send it away. I won't get it back for 5-10 business days. That means no music in Edmonton. I'm so sad. I don't know how I'm going to survive without my music. I still have to go to work and I usually listen to my jellybean on the bus. Now I'll be forced to sit in silence, listening to the stupid people around me.

Seriously, I have no idea why. I picked up my paycheck today and under rate it said $9.00 where it used to say $8.50. It's not much of a raise, but it's still a raise. Guess all I had to do was take 2 weeks off.

Today was my first day back and thank God I was only on for 5 hours. My neck started to hurt half an hour before I left, so it's a good thing I didn't have to stay longer. I did have to put up with some annoying customers today, though. Our ice capp machine wasn't freezing (so many people wanted ice capps) and people just couldn't understand that nothing I could do would make it freeze faster. Plus, our toaster was broken. People still asked of bagels toasted. I was so very tempted to just point to the sign on my register saying we couldn't toast anything. Most were good about it, but some put up a fuss before storming out.

And to the man who helped the woman in the motorized chair who couldn't move her arms, you have restored my faith in humanity. Thank you for giving me her debit card and handing her the PIN pad and then, when she wasn't able, pushing the buttons for her. If you hadn't already paid, I would have given you your coffee and bagel free.

Also, a huge thanks to my dad over the past week. He cleaned out my cut on my neck and changed the bandage every day and every night. I'm sure it was gross and you didn't have to, so thanks for making my life just that much easier.

So, I went to a movie with Dad last night. When we were going to the theatre the following conversation occurred with the ticket taker guy (TTG).

TTG: Hey, is it still raining outside?
Me: Uh, yeah.
TTG: But it's not pouring or anything, right? Just a bit of rain?
Dad: Yes.
Me: *hands tickets*
TTG: I like your scarf
(I was wearing a scarf to cover my bandage)
Me: What? Oh, thanks.
TTG: *yelling as we walk away* You're shirt's cool too!

There was nothing wrong with what he did, it was just kind of weird.

So, I didn't go to work today. I called in at 6:45 and told the baker (there was no management staff there) that I was stuck in bed. I then went back to sleep until 10:30. When I did get up I could hardly stand, which made having a shower interesting, and I then proceeded to spend the day sitting in my comfy chair with my computer and my cat. When mom got home she took me to the doctor who said I have a mild strain. Now, lucky me, I get to have x-rays done. And physio. Yay.

Everywhere! Pain through my entire body! My legs hurt, my back aches, my feet are killing me, my arms feel like they're going to fall off. You get the idea. I have knees and ankle braces on and a vibrating, heating thing on my back. I was fine until I had 3 hours left on my shift. Then everything just started hurting. I think I might have pulled something, or at least strained it. I'm going to see if Mom'll drive me to the Medistop when she gets home and I might not be going to work tomorrow. It means no cash training, but oh well. I hurt too much to care.

In other news, I have an interview on Friday for a job out at a summer camp. I might be able to quite at Tim Horton's!

Also, I got to go to a wedding last Saturday. My godsister married a cowboy. A very tall cowboy (6'5"). She's 4'11". The kiss was quite amusing. The wedding was out at Rafter 6 Ranch, which was cool. We didn't stay very long though. There's only so long I can sit and make pleasant conversation with strangers.

Anyway, I'm going to go back to my CSI and hope that things stop hurting soon.

I've decided that Halloweentown Sora is the coolest. By far the best outfit in the game. Now I'm going to have to go back and play Kingdom Hearts 1 so I can get to that part.

In other news, I applied for jobs today. Coles, Chapters, Blockbuster and Toys 'R' Us (please God, save me). I have no idea why I applied for that last one, but I actually talked to the manager and he said he'd be calling next week. So, yay. I might be getting some work soon. Then I can go buy all the anime and manga that's calling my name right now. I hear you Descendants, Fullmetal. I'll have you soon.

So yay! I'm finally home! I now get 4 months of relaxing at home with my own bed and all my cats. Of course, I have to get a job. Dad keeps bugging me to go apply somewhere and I've only been home for 21 hours. I don't know where I'm going to work, since I don't like people. But hopefully I'll find something.

So my first year of university is over. Assuming I pass everything, no more calculus! I only needed 34% on the final to pass the course, so I thing I'm okay. I'm not too sure about bio though. I never thought I'd do better in math than in bio, but I did. Other than that first year was...okay. I learned a lot. Mainly that I actually do need to study. Next year should be different, especially since I'm going to be taking 6 courses a semester. What am I thinking! I barely made it through with 4 this year. And I still have to do chemistry too! Well, it's too soon to think about that. I have all summer before I even get to pick my courses.
